RSPB, The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, has more than 1 million members, "that's more members than belong to all thepolitical parties put together,"..And even this figure is an underestimate, since surveys suggest that up to three million Brits register birdwatching among their regular or occasional hobbies. At this rate it will overtake fishing. Or gardening. Or even football...
